Leathermaking
Leathermaking technology dates back to the Stone Age. This technology has been an important component of the nomadic economy in the Kazakh times too. Animal husbandry produced a lot of cheap hydes, and it was one of the strategic resources of the nomadic peoples. From leather Kazakhs made horse harnesses, boots, headwear, belts and pouches, outerwear, pants (trousers), dishware cases, liquid containers, quivers and bow holsters, sheaths for bladed weapons and knifes, and many other items.
