Railway Transport
Railway transport first appeared in Kazakhstan at the end of the 19th century. And in the 20th century, railway transport became an important factor in the transportation system and the economy of Kazakhstan. Initially, the railway connection was limited to steam-powered trains. Later, diesel-powered locomotives appeared. And after that, electric locomotives powered by electric current was invented. Today, the entire territory of Kazakhstan is covered with railway infrastructure, connecting most of the large cities and many towns.
