Asiatic horsebow
The traditional horsebow became a mature and formidable technology in the Saka period. At just over 1 meter in length, this weapon's power and shooting speed exceeded all of the previous bow types. Its complex biocomposite structure included wood, horn, sinew, and birch bark. Saka tribes armed with such bows made it the most famous military emblem of the Great Steppe. In the past, nomadic peoples invented the war chariot for the first time in the world. And now they became the world’s first horseback archers.
