Early Iron Age

Early Iron Age

The early Iron Age began in Kazakhstan in the first millennium BC. During this period, early nomadic peoples, i.e. Saka tribes, were roaming in the Great Steppe. They started from bronze metallurgy and then moved onto the next, more advanced type of metallurgy, i.e. iron metallurgy. Since iron is a harder metal, a new method of processing, or forging technology, was invented.
