Turkic long-skirted coats
The hallmark long-skirted coats appeared in the Turkic Period instead of the famous short coats of the Saka Era. Such long coats were designed to protect horse riders’ legs from cold temperatures and wind in fall and winter, and from extreme heat in summer. Once this technology was invented, it never changed for the coming centuries, which proves it practicability. Even today, the nomadic peoples such as Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Mongol, Karakalpak, Turkmen, Bashkir, Kalmyk, and etc. wear long traditional coats that originated back then.
