Heavy Armored Cavalry

Heavy Armored Cavalry

The heavy armored cavalry is usually attributed to the Ancient Turks within the history science. Of course, in reality they simply continued the previous Saka’s military tradition of using the cataphracts (or heavy knights). But Turks have elevated this technology to the new level by optimizing and cheapening the weapons and armor of the Saka Era. Therefore, the Turks had access to larger  heavy cavalry troops than previously. There are many ancient depictions of these Turkic knights that survived to this day in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, Mongolia, Siberia, and Northern China.
