Large cargo carts
Arbas (large two-wheeled carts) with two-meter high wheels were used as cargo vehicles. They became the iconic symbol of the great Silk Road. Their technological features are very efficient. Due to a large lever, created by the 1-meter wheel’s radius, these carts could negotiate even the rough offroad terrain of the Steppe. Plus, they were so well-engineered that just one average horse could easily pull a fully-loaded arba. A large fleet of such carts were part of the Great Silk Road trade’s transportation infrastructure.
