Gavdislam Mukhamadiyevich Yessirkegenov
Gavdislam Mukhamadiyevich Yessirkegenov, a graduate of Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute in 1953, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was approved as Rector of KazPTI. In 1961, Civil Engineering faculty was opened with the following specialties: "Industrial and civil construction", "Architecture", and in 1963 "Heat and gas supply and ventilation". Twice Hero of the Soviet Union Talgat Bigeldinov studied at Industrial and Civil Engineering faculty. In 1963, Institute received a dormitory for four hundred people, and in 1964 the building of the main academic campus was completely commissioned.
